WORK WITH NAOMI
Curious About How to Become a Client?
If you're reading this, you've likely already looked at Nutrition Counselling, Individual Therapy, or Couples Therapy and want to understand what step to take first or perhaps you're still deciding between which option is best for you. The information here is intended to help answer some common questions and point you in the right direction, but you are always welcome to reach out before booking if you still have questions.
Which service should I book?
A short answer to this, if you haven't seen these pages yet:
-
Nutrition Counselling is the starting point if your focus is food, digestion, energy, hormones, or the emphasis on how you are feeling physically that is impacting you emotionally or relationally.
-
Individual Therapy is the starting point if your focus is emotional or relational with the emphasis on anxiety, trauma, patterns, relationships with yourself or others.
-
Couples Therapy is for the two of you, together, and Naomi offers this in-person only. If you are looking for Online Couples Counselling, reach out to Niilo Admin or browse through other Niilo Couples Therapists HERE
If your situation touches more than one of these, that's common, not complicated!
-
Mind + Body Care is an Integrated Approach for individuals who want to incorporate Nutrition and Psychotherapy together.
What if I'm not sure whether I need nutrition counselling or therapy?
Simply reach out! If you feel as though what you are experiencing is more nuanced, you can Contact Niilo Admin and they'll help you establish the right starting point, including referring you to an alternate therapist at Niilo to support you, perhaps as a couple, while you work individually with me or vice versa. You are also welcome to reach out to me directly if that seems more ideal.
What if Naomi isn't currently accepting new clients — is there a waitlist?
If when you go to Book Now it displays {Returning Clients Only} this doesn't necessarily mean that you can't become a new client
Naomi holds a limited caseload by design, particularly for clients receiving integrated Mind+Body Care, so that every client receives the depth of attention their care requires. If a service is full when you reach out, you'll be offered the option to join that service's waitlist through Jane, and Niilo Admin can also flag suitable alternatives within the wider Niilo Wellness community in the meantime.
What happens after you book a session?
Once you book through Niilo Wellness, you'll receive a confirmation and an intake form to complete beforehand. This is where you'll share relevant history and what your concerns or goals are, while also going over important consent and confidentiality pieces. For couples sessions, each partner completes their own intake individually before attending the first session together. You'll also receive information on Niilo Wellness cancellation policy and how to prepare for a virtual session, and information about free onsite parking, as applicable.
What to expect in the first session?
Whether nutrition, individual, or couples counselling, your first session is a conversation and the start of your collaboration. Naomi will ask about your history, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping to accomplish by working together.
For Nutrition Counselling, this session stands on its own and can be credited toward the individualized program if you choose to enroll within 30 days.
For Couples Therapy, the first session also covers confidentiality, consent and maps out how therapy will work together as a pair.
Can I book therapy and nutrition counselling with Naomi at the same time?
Yes, and this is most commonly why clients want to work specifically with Naomi. Integrated Mind+Body Care isn't a separate program, it's simply nutrition counselling and individual therapy coordinated together, at the intersection of both, which is where lasting change tends to happen.
One note: if you're booking as a couple, Naomi works with couples exclusively as a couple. She isn't able to also see one partner individually while working with you as a pair at the same time. Naomi or Niilo Admin can connect you with another therapist for individual work alongside couples sessions if that's what you need.
Do I have to commit to an ongoing program after my first session?
There's no obligation to commit to an ongoing support after a single session.
For nutrition clients, the consultation gives both of you and Naomi the information needed to decide together whether the Individualized Program or Integrated Care is the right next step.
For psychotherapy and couples clients, ongoing sessions are booked at a pace that reflects what you're working through, not according to a program.
